BALLYCASTLE man Christopher McCaughan recently paid a visit to Media City in Manchester.

Chris, who is Chairman of the Co-op Local Forum, represents Northern Ireland in Manchester and was on his way to a Co-op meeting when he stopped at Media City to admire The Rover's Return.

If you're a fan of Coronation Street you'll have noticed a Co-op shop as a new addition on the cobbles – this is something Chris is very proud of, as a massive fan of the soap!

The connection between Ballycastle and the street doesn't end there – cast your mind back to the 'Save the Dal' days and you'll remember a plethora of the soap's actors and actresses sent messages of support, backing the campaign.

Chris said: “At the time of the Save the Dal campaign these young soap stars gave us their support in spades! It's a great link between Ballycastle and Manchester and one we should be very proud of.”
