WHAT organisers of this summer's Open Championship wouldn't do for weather similar to what we're experiencing on the north coast just now.

Warm temperatures, plenty of sunshine and just the hint of a sea breeze are the ideal ingredients for an enjoyable yet testing round of golf.

The summer usually signals a stepping up of action around our local clubs and it's clear from the coverage in our paper that this is indeed the case.

This week's Chronicle boasts two pages of unrivalled reports from around the north coast, bringing you news of who won what and where.

Make sure you get your copy and find out who is setting the pace this early in the season.
